Game Music - OverClocked Remix

I’m not entirely sure how I found this site, but randomally hopping between sites while clicking on links that seemed mildly interesting seemed to be somewhat responsible. OCR is a site dedicated to providing high-quality remixes to existing video games.

Not much more to say than that, really. I’m particularlly fond of the Da Bomb Lemmings remix. The built-in Last.FM player doesn’t work for me, so click on the Download MP3 link underneath it if you’re also experiencing the same.

Doctor Who - Series 30 Finale

Entertainment, Television 1 Comment »

Doctor Who series 30 (new series 5? Eh, whatever) just finished. I’m not a Who fan and I probably only watch it because of Tennant, but… my impressions? I’ll be brief:

Russell T Davies, you smug wanker. You suck (cock, probably).

GTA IV: Impressions of the Bad Kind

People are jizzing over all of the good bits in GTA IV, so I’m gonna blow a sticky wad on the bad bits. Just because I can. So, despite it being a great game and all (it’s like an updated version of Saint’s Row, woah!), here’s some stuff. Since relaunching the site, I’ve gone a bit soft - so I’m gonna try and up the swearing and ranting quota. Alreet?

New Golden Axe, Shenmue

Wow, that was unexpected.

For me, the best games I’ve ever played were back in the 16-BIT era from the likes of Sega, on the Megadrive/Genesis. There were so many classic games released like Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Toejam & Earl, Comix Zone, and so on.

What I couldn’t understand was why Sega wasn’t doing updated versions of those games - gamers like myself would have a jizz-fest*. I don’t mean like what Nintendo are doing: constantly re-hashing the same shit over and over again. Just how many damn Zelda games are there, for example?

So that’s good, then.

Edit: It was posted five days ago and it hasn’t arrived. Looks like it’s going to arrive on launch day (Tuesday). That’s the fourth time Play.com’s completely shit delivery balls has taken nearly a week to get my crud out to me. Well done, dickheads!

The Peter Serafinowicz Show

Television 2 Comments »

I don’t think I’ve ever written about a TV show before as they’re generally “meh” and there’s so many of them, but I was pretty surprised by this one.

Peter Serafinowicz has been in a lot of productions, including Star Wars: Episode One, Shaun of the Dead, Look Around You, Black Books, and others. He’s a part of the current generation of UK comedians and actors (Simon Pegg, Mark Heap, Kevin Eldon, and so on), so I was looking forward to see how he’d do in his very own sketch show after being the main force behind the Look Around You series.

After watching the first episode, I’m honestly surprised to say that it wasn’t crap! Hell, it was great. I say “surprised” because I’ve seen Peter in panel shows and he doesn’t seem too hot at impromptu comedy; granted, a sketch show is obviously written, but it still somehow marred my initial thoughts on how he’d do in something that isn’t driven by plot or direction.
